There seems to be several reasons we need to remove fossil fuels from the mix of energy sources we use in the UK

  • to reduce the impact of Climate Change and meet our Net Zero commitments
  • to reduce local pollution
  • to reduce our reliance on oil and gas that are subject to price fluctuations, supply issues and, in some cases, put money in the pockets of hostile states.

There are various websites available that log our progress (and we are making progress) towards this.

I’ve been working very slowly on providing some statistics to help track this, the first of which shows the uptake of solar to our power grid.
